Montsoriu Castle, the residence of the Viscounts of Cabrera during the 13th and 14th centuries, is one of the most brilliant examples of medieval architecture in Catalonia.
The route we recommend connects the town of Arbúcies with the castle, crossing holm oak groves and cork oaks. From the top of the hill we will enjoy an impressive view of the Vall d'Arbúcies and the Tordera.

We leave Arbúcies following the old road, until we find the forest track that climbs towards El Replà. From here the route is circular. The section of ascent leads us to the castle crossing the urbanization of Fogueres de Montsoriu. From here, and in about 15-20 ’, we will reach the castle of Montsoriu, from where we will enjoy magnificent views of the Arbúcies valley and the Tordera corridor.
We retrace a section of track to turn right towards Cal Bruix, La Janeta and El Replà. From this point we return the same way as on the climb. You have to be alert because you are constantly crossing many tracks and we should not be confused. The route is marked with yellow indicators and corresponds to route 22 of the Consell Comarcal de la Selva.
