Punt 2: Gorg Nou

From the Pont dels Rojos, so called because it was built between 1936 and 1939 in the midst of the Spanish Civil War, we have a good viewpoint of the Arbúcies stream.

The creek was one of the most rooted play spaces in traditional society, where generations of Arbuci people spent their summers playing, cooling off, fishing..., a whole universe of fun and learning about the environment especially for the smaller ones One of the most emblematic and crowded places was the Gorg Nou, appreciated for its beauty and the depth of the water. This place, with its imposing wild nature, was at the beginning and middle of the 20th century a typical image of the town and one of the most reproduced by painters and photographers.

At this exact point we cross Paseo de la Riera, an idyllic route where the greenery of the riparian forest and the sound of the water will accompany us. This place was also a source of inspiration for Santiago Rusiñol to paint some of his paintings.
